Niagara Falls

I have been to Niagara Falls numerous times.  This was actually the second time my 2 year old twins have been there.  I have however never been to the Canadian side.  Actually I lied.  I have been to the Casino on Canadian side once in the dead of Upstate NY winter, and at night.  You could barely see anything even though the falls was lit up.

Since my husbands family lives in Syracuse/Buffalo area it is so easy to make that road trip every time someone from Europe visits.  Everyone from Europe wants to visit Niagara Falls.  I don’t ask why, just take them there.

Array

The Canadian side is dominated by tourism since you can see American Falls as well as Horseshoe falls a lot better.

Array

This is the view of the American side where you can see the viewing tower and standing area.  The only reason one should not cross the bridge to the other side is if they are not sure if they can come back to the US.

Array

Other then that reason I highly recommend getting on the rainbow bridge and seeing the beauty of the falls.

Array

There are a lot more attractions like getting soaked by taking a voyage into the falls on Maid of the Mist.

Array

You do however have to be prepared to get a little bit wet no matter what.  Which is not bad with 90 deg heat but as you imagine that is rare in Upstate NY.

Array

Thank goodness there is a barrier to keep the kids from jumping

Array

You can always strap them into a strolled where a minute of calmness is sponsored by Apple.

Array

Before that they were running on the street playing stop.  Not necessarily a game which makes mommy feel safe, unless your parenting skill is closer to Michael Jackson’s.

Array

So after holding them, saying no, having a heart attack and popping about 20 relax pills, they were strapped back into the car.

Array

Even the drive around is filled with attractions, casinos, funky shops, indoor water park, wax museum even Marineland that features marine animal shows.

Array

Anything and everything you want and imagine is there.  So why you gamble your life savings while using the excuse you are sightseeing your kids can be entertain to the max.

Array

Even normal Burger King is not that normal.  So if you ever have a choice, Canadian side is the place to be, well at least when it comes to Niagara Falls.

Hi Kathy! I haven’t been by your site in so long, but what a treat to come today and see these wonderful photos of Niagara Falls! I was there for the first time with my family about four years ago. It really is such a neat place. So glad to see you all had fun. :)

Isn’t Niagara Falls gorgeous? I lived there (Canadian side) for 10 years…then moved to Buffalo back in 2000. I’m actually still Canadian, but live in Richmond now! Stumbled across your website and love it! I did something similar (for fun things to do with family/kids, playground reviews, etc) back in Buffalo up until a few weeks ago when we moved. I hope to continue doing the same thing now that we’re in Richmond (just moved here this week, actually).
