Monkey Joes Midlothian VA

There are days in the summer when it is just too hot to hang out in the playground or pool.  The heat index in Richmond rises way over 100 degrees and swinging on heated swings and sliding on steaming slides is just not an option.  So we head indoors.  Monkey Joe’s is a recently opened venue on Midlothian Turnpike which holds bouncing, sliding and jumping fun in a very well air conditioned facility.

The designated 3 and under area has two inflatables that slide, jump and even swim in a little inflatable pool

Array

For the older kids there are climbing walls their size

Array

and jumps that can withstand any energy

Array

there are 6 big kid inflatables, suitable for kids 12 and under

Array

and two three and under inflatables that do not include this small one which was mostly frequented by older toddlers

Array

There are 4 party rooms each in its own theme or you have a lot of choice

Array

The sign on the wall stated that the capacity of each of the party rooms is 85 people but that must mean they are very little people, sitting or standing on top of each other.

Array

Now if you are lucky enough to be there on a hot day you may get a chance to meet Monkey Joe which certainly will be a treat for the kids, even if they have no clue of who he is.

Monkey Joe’s states that keeping the area healthy and clean is their top priority and they clean everything with Swisher Hygiene which eliminates 99.9%  of most common germs.  I am not sure what that means other then if the germ is not common you are not protected and they did open in the summer.  It is always safer to make sure you keep your children clean and healthy then rely on Swishers however good they are.  Swisher to me sounds more like a Dr. Seuss character then a cleaning agent.

In any case if you or the kiddos get tired there is a TV viewing area geared just for kids since it is blaring cartoons and not CNN or FOX News.

There is however free WiFi and two computers where you can use or share with your toddlers while they roam around the place.

For more information about directions and prices go to Monkey Joe’s website by clicking here. If you decide to go there remember to have you and your kid wear socks or else you will have to purchase them for 2$.

  1. OHmommy says:

Sounds like a great place. Wish we had one here in Cleveland.

  2. Can I just tell you how HAPPY I am that I found you? I have been looking for local bloggers, and hadn’t had much luck… until NOW!!!! My oldest is turning 3 on Saturday, so we are thinking of taking him and our youngest to Monkey Joes. We’ve never been there, or have I ever heard about it. We live out at Lake Anna, so I’m not all that familiar with Richmond… except for the Short Pump area.
