Fall Camping in Twin Lakes

What happens when you rent six cabins, each with at least one couple and 4 children.  Well it depends who you ask.

For me you get a family tradition and a way to enjoy the state parks without roughing it too much.

Array

A way to go for long walks and pick wild flowers.

Array

maybe even walk barefoot

Array

for my daughter it was a perfect way to play with fire and smoke

Array

for others you get memories that start with “remember when we tipped the canoe over” which really happens every year

Array

others would rather not worry about things like this

Array

but where still excited about boats and oars

Array

for my son it was a perfect way to bond with boys, follow them around

Array

maybe even play some football

Array

Array

Learn how to chop wood

Array

Play bocce ball

Array

for the teenage girls it was a perfect way to bond with boys, follow them around.

Maybe even do some fishing

Array

Either way it all ended with fires, guitars and stories

Array

oh yes and lots and lots of pictures

My kind of weekend! Looks like fun. Your pictures are beautiful. My fave is the one of the bare walking feet. You should frame it :)

Is there any way you could sneak me into your suitcase next time? I would have so loved this adventure.

And YOU took so many great shots of the children. Especially loved the one of maya running in her boots and the two of them next to the canoe.

    Thank you for sharing.

  3. This reminds me of vacations with my parents in Northern Minnesota when I was a kid. Fishing and canoeing. Thanks for the memories.
